BaitPop was born out of a love for fishing, a legacy of innovation, and a deep desire to help anglers everywhere catch more fish.
In 1980, Fish Formula, created by David Bethshears and the legendary Bill Dance, launched the entire fish scent industry. From the start, our mission was clear: develop natural, high-quality formulas without compromise. That commitment continues today—we never use synthetic scents or artificial dyes. Just pure, proven ingredients that fish can’t resist.
Years later, that legacy came full circle when my grandad and I—both lifelong fishing partners—saw a challenge in the rising world of live sonar: it was tough to clearly see our baits on the screen. My grandad, a pharmacist and respected fishing inventor, took on the challenge. After months of failed tests and relentless effort, God gave him an idea. We tried it—and it worked. The results were incredible.
That breakthrough became the foundation of BaitPop.
We put our savings into bringing this to market—not just for us, but for all anglers. Today, BaitPop offers a revolutionary formula that:
